Music
I’ve always had music in my life, always different kinds of music. I grew up in a catholic family, that sang in the church choir. My godfather was a choir director, music teacher, and a drama teacher. He once told me that it didn’t matter what kind of music I listened to, just as long as I always listened to music. I’ve always loved that piece of advise. My life has been very up and down, some years are better then others, some days are better then others. My music has always changed with my mood. If I’m angry and upset, I need something heavy, whether its rap or metal, it had to be heavy and fast. When I am feeling better I still listen to that same music, but I try to find stuff that is more melodic and soothing. Yes, heavy/death/black metal (or whatever you wish to call it) can be soothing. I think I do stuff at my best when I’m listening to music. For some reason the “noise” helps me concentrate. I hate silence, I can’t stand doing homework or something in silence. I hated those teachers in high school that wouldn’t let me use my ipod when we just had work time. It annoyed me to no end, one of those “I know how you work well” kinda BS.
The one genre I have never really liked at all is country. It’s just really boring to me. My favorite genres are Heavy metal and Rap. Any rock is ok, but there is a lot of rock out there that isn’t that good in my opinion, and isn’t original. If it’s metal or heavier, I’ll most likely love it. I don’t like a lot of modern day Rap. I prefer some of the less recent stuff, like Dr. Dre, tupac, and eminem. I think a lot of modern day rap is all hype, and none of hit holds much value. Plus, none of them are that talented compared to the old school rappers.
I played the drums for about a year, I was never really that good at them though, probably because I didn’t practice much. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play electrical and acoustic guitar, but I’ve never gotten around to it.
